As a personal assistant to a young woman at an early developmental stage with multiple disabilities, you enable her to live an independent life. Are you curious, attentive, and able to work independently, and do you easily adapt to different situations and people? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

Kooperativet EMIL is now seeking female personal assistants for a young woman with mental and physical developmental disabilities living in central Eskilstuna. She is at a very early developmental stage and needs assistance with almost everything in her daily life. We are currently looking for 2 assistants to work day/evening shifts and 1 assistant to work awake night shifts.

Job Responsibilities

The assistance includes personal care with complete hygiene, medication administration, and help with meals via mouth and peg. You will plan and carry out activities such as listening to music, singing, reading stories, and doing crafts together with our member. The work involves solitary work and some double staffing during activities. The base is in the woman’s home, but it can also be at a daily activity center.

You will perform certain physiotherapy exercises according to a program, and one day a week you will attend therapeutic baths organized by the habilitation services. You will also accompany her to leisure activities such as para-athletics.

Who are you?

You should be driven and able to function as the young woman’s “motor,” meaning you take initiative, plan independently, and carry out daily activities. You must be able to act independently but also follow given instructions on how the work should be performed. Sometimes planning also occurs with parents/guardians and other important people surrounding the woman.

You must be able to represent our member in situations that arise in daily life. Therefore, you must have a good command of the Swedish language. You can work both independently and in a group. You find it easy to build relationships and are trustworthy. As a person, you are responsible, meticulous, attentive, unpretentious, and adaptable in interactions with others. Based on our member’s wishes and needs, we are only looking for female assistants who are non-smokers. You should not be allergic to chlorine and must be able to swim as pool training is included.

To apply for this position, you should have the following qualifications:

- very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form

- non-smoker

If your education is focused on care and welfare, pedagogy, or behavioral science, this is a significant advantage for the position. Previous experience as a personal assistant and experience working with individuals at an early developmental stage with multiple disabilities is also meritorious.

The position will start under the auspices of Kooperativet EMIL on March 1, and an introduction will be held in February.

Upon hiring, a criminal record extract will be requested.

Extent: The service levels for the night position are 62%, and for day/evening, there is one position at 59% and one at 31%.
